Different look for the Old's

Took the Old's to the Rancho Tehama car show (small local show) and decided to do something a little different. As you know the more people see the same car at multiple shows the more humdrum that car becomes even though the fit and finish may be top notch it's kinda like seeing a old girlfriend, been there done that. So on the first half of the show I left the top up and added my antique water cooler to the passenger side window. Last half of the show I put the top down and displayed the car topless..... Got a third place award...Tedd

Don't know how the ballots came in but drew a crowed while the top was going down. I don't think many non car types have seen the top being lowered on a fifties era car. The judging was peer style... Tedd

Tedd, you know that when the top comes down the value goes up. So apparently does the reward. Congrats! Curious, does that water cooler system actually work?

I have found that parking is pretty important in larger car shows. If the show starts at 3:00, a lot of folks will get there at 12:30 -1:00 to get a good spot.

The water cooler is better than nothing. Helps the passenger mostly and only works in low humidity days.On a scale of 1 to 10 it's about a 4.

The big problem with it is that it was never intended to be attached to a convertible. I have to use the convertible roof rail to attach to rather than the rain rail on the door of a hard top car so when attached the passenger door can't be opened, big pain in the ***.Yes it works but it's mostly a conversation piece for the young"ns to ponder and something different to look at as most people haven't ever seen one on a convertible.

I'm one of those who get there quite early mostly because we can have 100+ days and the shady parking goes away quickly, plus I try to get as far away from the damn speakers as possible so I can hear and carry on a conversion. Some people should never have a microphone put in there hands but they are usually the ones who do....Just my humble bias opinions... Tedd
