I know of "E & G Automotive" (parts) out of Seekonk Ma. but not a machine shop named the same. But, the NEOC has quite a few members with connections.
(Nice 442 Ever come to our annual Olds show?)

@ Olds68 I was at an Olds show this past September on the Berlin turnpike. I didn't bring my car though I bought my 68 442 vert about 2 years ago. It's actually a turnpike cruiser number matching car. It's got 80000 miles original interior but it's been painted once but it's still the original color. I put on a new carb and intake,Hotchkis suspension and custom made exhaust. I'm prob gonna do an engine for it in the next year or so I'm just torn between the original 400 or a 455.

I live about 200 miles West of Lake George in Seneca Falls. I'm at the North end of Cayuga Lake (one of the Finger Lakes). My folks (& one sister) still live in North Stonington & we were there last week.

West Hartford here. Stevec - I coach Southington High's hockey team fwiw.
E & G is a good quality shop that knows Olds, has torque plates, etc. I think it is technically in Wallingford but might as well be Meriden.
In the summer it is frequently worth checking out the Berlin Tpke Burger King cruise on Saturday nights. Run by the Mopar club, attracts a variety of cars, usually an Olds, 2 or 3 drops in, occasionally more.
NEOC Olds show is always fun to go to.

Bordline Conn here - 15 minutes from the state line @ Somers. Spend monday nights in Somers at the Race Shop and Friday nights Apr-Oct in Stafford at the track. Also venture into Thompson and Waterford several times per year for races.

Hey bccan small world huh? I do cruise the Berlin Turn Pike in the summer,I grew up in Berlin. I look forward to meeting some of you guys this summer at some car shows.

I grew up in CT, spend my first 19 years in Bristol. I remember the light to light races on the Berlin Turn Pike during the late 70's. McDonald's was the turn around spot. I also remember the drive-in theater that you could view from the side road

The drive in theater is long gone! But mc'donalds is still there. You can still Cruz the pike and the law is pretty cool as long as you don't drive like an *** which most people don't except the kids with the little imports they are constantly getting pulled over.

Definitely no imports back then, funny , all the cars were ones that cost an arm and leg today. I had a chance to but a 71' Hemi Cuda for 5k and I couldn't afford it. Same guy that owned it had 2 65 GTO Tri-Powers. I had my 66 442 ragtop that cost me $600.
I went to Porter and Chester Auto Mechanics school in Rocky Hill after HS. Worked at a Goodyear Tire place off of Rt. 9 in New Britain afterwards. Join the Navy a year later and the rest is history. Still have family in Bristol.

I wanted to post in here. Is anyone on here from ct have a police officer as a good friend or in the family? I'm trying to gather some information on my car that spend it's entire life down in Connecticut. I'm looking to go back around 1997 era to get in touch with a gentleman who did a lot of work to the car. It was taken off the frame, had a new fender and rad support put on(so I've been told) and just want to verify.
I've contacted the registry to no avail, and am hoping a police officer can run the VIN number and at least get a list of registered owners. If anyone on here could offer any sort of assistance, please send me a message.

Mike G in Oxford CT ---between Danbury and Waterbury. Hope to see some of you guys around the CT cruise nights. I went to the one at Heavenly Donuts on Rt 34 a couple weeks ago and had some lookers and interesting comments. This was my first since the resto. The sound of the car got a lot of attention driving in and out. I am really enjoying it.

Wouldnt the police get their info from the same place as the DMV?
Or, is the DMV not willing to share any info?

Frank the crank. He drilled a crank for me for a pilot bushing for an olds and has also done Harley machining and some other projects for me. Good people, him and his crew

Misplaced CT yankee
Raised in Meriden, lived a short while on Cook Hill Road in Wallingford, behind the old Oakdale theater, grandparents lived in Wallingford grandfather had his own barber shop on Cherry St. all they bought were new Oldsmobiles bought them off of Hurlbert Motors in Wallingford, or Ekblade Olds in Hamden, Have relatives in Southington, Wallingford, Yalesville and New Britain. I have lived in Los Angeles for years and currently own a 60 98 2 door hardtop, a 65 F85 deluxe wagon, and a 65 Cutlass convertible. Learned to drive on my dads 62 98 2 door hardtop, that we bought from Wallingford Auto Buick dealer when they were on colony st. downtown. Connecticut is full of old Oldsmobiles, very popular over the years. This is a great site, I read it everyday.
