Cars and Coffee Evansville 11-6

Took my Monte Carlo to the Evansville Cars and Coffee. This show is in the middle of the commercial area, is the first Sunday of the month, always, and goes from 9 am to 11 to whenever everyone leaves. Jan-Mar are no goes for me, Dec is iffy. So, off I went. There was a 71 Monte Carlo there that I think started life similar to mine, I certainly would've stolen the blue cloth seats and blue vinyl door cards for backup to mine if it were being parted. Only one Olds, and it was an Alero or an Intrigue or something. First time in a while I have had to do this, but, of the two blue Monte Carlos, mine's the light blue 72 that is stock, not the darker blue 71 with heaps of supercharger (normally I never see any other FGMCs...first gen Monte Carlos.)

Nice. Thanks for the show. I take it that your MC was the tidy-looking (unbutchered) blue one.

Yes. It needs the hood repainted, but, other than wear parts and some minor tweaks like Corvette spec weights and springs, and an K&N air filter in the housing with some extra holes drilled in the bottom, and my grandfather's replacement of the AC driver's kick panel with a vented one, and one wreck on I 75 in 86, the car is as it left Kansas City 50 years ago. I've owned it 20 years, my dad and grandma owned it 15 years, and my grandfather ordered it new and owned it 15 years until his passing in 87. It languished until 02 when my dad and I got it road worthy and I drove it to college for a couple years, then got something more sensible as a daily driver.

That 71 MC is bad ***. My Mom had a brown 72 Monte in the late 70's. That car got us safely down to Vincennes, Indiana for many family holidays.

Nice. Thanks Koda. I Love car shows full of everything. Way too many to comment on. I absolutely love first year Camaro's. 67 Rally Sport? Awesome. Thanks posting all that you did. Too cool to see us all side by side.

I kinda dig that Karmen Ghia. Definitely won't see another one like that anywhere.

Sure looks like you folks are getting some nice weather. I would have thought it'd be starting to get chilly there.

Looks like it is built with function first in mind. Looks like a Rallye car that I bet does pretty good.
