Bitterly Cold Temps

Woke up this morning to -13 degree temps and wind chills of -40 when I took my dogs out at 6:00 for their morning walk. Both did their business and we were inside in less than 2 minutes. Coldest temps in years here in north central Mass. Worcester and Boston set records today. Mount Washington in NH set an all time record for a wind chill of -109 degrees! Ouch! I just lit a fire in the fireplace and it's roaring now. Will probably burn all day just to add some extra heat in the house. Anyone else with extreme low temps?

Yes here in Colorado we ran into some comparable temps. I too walk my dogs early in the morning. My husky can go all day. I had to turn around for my older dog though. Stay warm.

Cool pups. Mine are good for me. They keep me moving. I am up every single day. That's a good thing.

About the weather. I feel for guys also because you have humidity along with the cold temperature's. Good luck out there.

It got down to 30 degrees earlier this week, Brrrrrr. But then again, Texas gets into the low 100's in the summer, for long stretches.

I Love early mornings. Sounds like a few of us do. In Colorado we had the coldest January since 1988.

We're just coming out of a week of subzero weather in Northern Wisconsin. Several days -20's and we just missed the -30 mark. It didn't even get 0 for several days. None of that includes wind chill. Having a heat wave now, it's 22. I'm not built for this kind of weather, and it's only the beginning of February so there will be more.

Temp in central CT climbed to 0 by mid/late morning. Took the blue Cutlass out. Happy to report this car has never balked with no crossover heat and an electric choke. Pump the Qjet 4 times, turn the key, starts instantly, drive it out and go. Definitely nothing more than tip in for a block or two but it just drives normally. The convertible roof may squalk & squeak a bit but the engine loves the cold air.

Red car is a daily driver, same no crossover and electric choke always answers the bell the same way. Just thought I would post this for people that fear cool temps with no crossover heat. Certainly may not be the case for everyone but I’ve never had issues in other cars either. Efficiency? That’s certainly variable, thus the reason that I just drive it immediately to get through the warmup cycle asap.

Frozen pipes, = no water, if it warms up it will snow some more for sure, ready for spring, winter sucks. My 4x4 has electrical short, last car standing is the Miata. Kinda like no car at all till the sun shines...Tedd
