Art Fuller

Art Fuller passed away on Sunday January 14th from complications with leukemia. He was not a member here to my knowledge, but was a fixture in the Olds community for many years providing quality, hard to find parts at realistic prices. I’d suspect that many members here have his parts on their prized cars and perhaps might remember his character. He was a crew member on P3 Orion aircraft in the Navy and eventually retired from Southwestern Bell. He enjoyed Oldsmobiles and had a side gig /hobby selling parts. His business cards read simply “MEFCO”, My-Escape-From-Corporate-Oppression. Art is also the primary source for the purchase of my flattop wagon. He had stated that someone in our group needed to go buy and restore it, which I am. I (as many others) will miss his fun/unique antidotes and very straightforward/honest opinions. Folks who possess his candid personality with a genuinely good heart are becoming very scarce. For interested parties, please PM for funeral info.

Sad news. I have known Art for at least 30 years. One of the greatest guys in the Olds community. I gave him many parts and he gave me the same. RIP

I bought some parts from Art many years ago for the second 72 Cutlass convertible I had. I remember buying a front bumper, a pair of sport mirrors and some other things can remember. He really was a character. I had not talked to him in may years. RIP Art Fuller.

This is sad news. I found him by random chance when I lived in Arlington in the early 1990s. I bought quite a few pieces from him. Years later I dropped by and visited. He had sold most everything head. I bought a dual snorkel air cleaner and asked him if he had any SBO parts. He was always into BBOs. He said let's go to my storage building. Upon arriving he handed me a set of bare #6 W31 heads and said take these rebuild them and put them on your car.

I appreciated him very much. Always a class guy, with a sense of humor. Sad to know he is gone.

Art

Art was a very good friend to me and my family. We did a lot of “yarding” for parts and worked on cars together.
sadly things changed over the years. My family and I will forever miss Art Fuller.
RIP

Art was the reason I bought my 442 in 1999, he was a great resource for a lot of Oldsmobile owners and especially the NTOC members.
RIP Art
