Anyone else on the East Coast thinking of building one?
I have watched Hyco Lake level rise 2.4 feet
over the past two days.
I have water in the storage building and garage that I've never had. The wind is blowing the rain up under the metal roofs' ridge caps and it's dripping inside
. I think I have scratched the idea of a red metal roof on the house, and no ridge vent when it's reshingled in a couple years.
Me yard is squishy even on the higher parts.
And Miss Ida appears to have stalled off the Eastern Shore.
Amazed and surprised that gas prices didn't jack up 10-15%. The oil speculators hadn't had their Gulf hurricane this year and I really expected them to go stupid.

We are supposed to be getting some of that today and though it's cloudy and looks like it's going to rain , nothing yet. it has been quite dry the last couple of weeks and mostly sunny. october was a lot wetter so dry is a little better cause I am trying to dry out the field before I till it up. Maybe this week unless we do get dumped on today and tonite.

Sorry to hear that you're getting hammered with bad weather. Hope it doesn't last much longer. ....and don't talk so loud about gas prices, they have spies everywhere and probably are looking for us to say we expect a hike.....then they'll raise it 20 - 25%
I was watching the national weather forecast for canada and they were expecting 200 mm+ on the west coast. that would be about 7.8 inches so parts of B.C. are going to get hammered.Strange cause my sister lives there and she said it was the hottest and dryest summer they have had for a long time. They must have set records this year for forest fires in B.C. here we had about 3 weeks of summer the rest was cool and wet but this fall has been pretty good. The weather patterns are really screwed up this year.
