Talking Shocks

I am in search for a stiff shock to put on my 442 convertible. I put new Monroe Sensa tracs on it last year and they make my car float like a Cadillac.

Yes I really like a stiff ride. My SX has stiff shocks but they are spray painted black so I cant tell what brand they are.

I find the kybs to be to soft for my tastes. My car came w edlebrock shocks and those along w moog slightly firmer that 442 rate springs coupled w 1.25 fr and 1" rr sway bars and boxed lower rr control arms provides afirm comfortable ride.

When you say you want stiff ride, what exactly are you referring to?

KYB are stiff, a lot stiffer than Sensatrac, they make the ride kind of annoying. You can feel every little bump.

If you are looking to reduce pitching and rolling of the body, you need stiffer springs.

I have a set of Bilsteins on my 1969 Cutlass Supreme. They ride so nice that I bought a set for my 1991 F-150. Not to stiff but definitely not soft.

KYB Gas-A-Just are the stiff ones. The KYB GR-2 are the soft ones. I've been running the Gas-A-Just ones on my car for almost 3 years and I won't use another. Nice firm ride. There should also be some numbers stamped on your old painted ones that you can cross reference and figure out what those are.

I second this - I have Bilsteins on my 72 and they ride great. Not floaty but not too stiff. The HD Moog springs stiffened the ride and performance is quite nice!
