Ram air hood
Are you talking about the 1970 model? If so, Patton Glade can steer you on this. Goes by 70Post on this site. From what I've heard from him the original version sucked. The new generation of 1970 OAI steel hood is much better and more cost effective than a Thornton hood although it still needs a bit of tweaking (don't all hoods?) Patton Glade Home Page
BTW, while you're on his page check out his link to the fuel tank pad. They are very high quality and reasonably priced. I bought one for my car and am extremely pleased with it. You'll find he's an easy guy to talk to and he'll give you really good detailed information.
Parts place still hasn't done anything about producing a 71/72 OAI in spite of repeated emails asking them about it, even though they advertise it on their site. Still a 'work in progress' for the past 4 years....

Here is mine, it is an early one and I bought it damaged so it needed work. I had to rework the middle section where the hood latch is to get it to close properly fits good now. This was the only issue that didn't involve the damage. The rest of the primer you see is where I fixed damage.
Thanks guys
I have looked at all kinds of hoods old and new. I know how old fiberglass can get, I just don't want to buy a remake that is a pile of crap. I have dumped a pile of cash into my car so far and I am ok with it. I just want to try to find quality parts at a good price but I am not looking for the cheapest stuff. Some day I will get to enjoy the work I have put into her.
