My 66 Jetstar 88 HT only has one on the drivers side. I believe right side mirrors were an option back then.

That's correct. The RH outside mirror was an option. They are rare today. Even as late as my 1984 Custom Cruiser, which only has a LH outside mirror. This car is a complete bottom-of-the-line car, with crank windows, manual bench seat, etc.

I guess you can take this for what it's worth. I'm just posting it because there may be a connection. Memorial Day weekend I went camping & took the 66 Jetstar 88. That evening we used an inverter connected to the battery & a pump to fill the air mattresses. The next day I had a GEN light. Bright at first, then it dims down. I'm still driving it that way. Although it's mainly dim now. I haven't had any starting or driving problems with it.

But - About only time the light gets bright now is when I put it in reverse! Reverse, light is bright. Park, Neutral, Drive or Low it's dim. Sometimes the light is bright when I first start the car, then it dims as I rev it.

It assumed I damaged the voltage regulator when I used the inverter. Not sure though. But the VR is the first thing I plan to replace. Going to try a solid state one.

Gotta' go, heading out camping again. (Jetstar is staying home)
