Window sealer?

I thought I just posted this, but it seems to have disappeared.

The back window on Josh's '66 F85 leaks. What is the best way to fix this? Is there some kind of recommended sealer?

Thanks,
Jim

You may have leaking around the metal in the channel surrounding the window because of rust. I would recommend a very good inspection repair and/or cleaning first.

For sure....the 66-67 2dr roof line around back glass was prone to hold water and rot thru the metal there.

First remove the moldings and then the rear glass using the piano wire tool available at professional auto paint shops. Actually I have seen rear windows where the sealer has dried up so much you can push the window out easily. Be careful not to chip the edge of the glass. Get a roll of 3M 1/4" bead #8610 and put it around the channel after cleaning and painting the channel. Use the supplied blocks so the glass won't slide down out of place. Get new molding clips and put 3M 051135 sealer around the channel bottom and part way up, but not preventing the clips from flexing.
