In 1965 when Buick came out with the first Skylark Gran Sport, they were actually on convertible frames.

As mentioned above, for 1964-67, Olds offered a Heavy Duty Frame option on all non-convert cars that was simply the convertible frame under a hardtop or sedan. Other GM divisions likely did the same.

I r how many of those convertible frames were ordered. It was standard on the Buick GS and not an option.

back in the 90's I had a convertible and the frame was junk. I could not find a good frame. I found a nice coupe frame and used the "V" sections from the convertible frame to "convert" the coupe frame to a convertible frame. not rocket science , just measure measure measure. lots of time planning and fitting.

Been on these forums for years and found more arrogance and hostility from allblackcoupe than all the posts from all the posters combined.
Sparky, since you already know more than the members ..... why don't you just go away? Don't go away mad, just go away. You're disturbing my tranquility.

Don't be stupid.....mischief maker.....whatever disagreement I had with the other members....that was weeks ago and have been resolved! So you're the hostile arrogant one, trying to stir up dissatisfaction. Seems to me you are trying to disturb our tranquility. I'm not mad ....laughable...so you go away. There are plenty here that I have become friends with.....so again you go away.

Not stupid and likely better educated than you. Mischief maker? Not really. Just posting my thoughts on someone who appears to be a pompous, self aggradizing, hotheaded, know-it-all that leaves nothing but heartache, broken promises, and a snotty reply to everyone here with whom he has associated.
But, Dmitri, in the end you were right. I SHOULD NOT have WASTED my time to comment about your whirlwind insanity. I've been on this forum long before you arrived and will be here long after you're gone.

Whatever you think I am, I am.... Do you think I will lose an ounce of sleep. You are a wannabe, looking for someone to co-sign on your comment. Weeks have passed and here comes an educated idiot trying to ignite differences of the past....what a messy little child. Obviously you have not are only read the comments that fits your agenda. You may have been on the forum before me.....but I'm here now and nothing you can do about that.....also , it's good to be educated, however I think intelligence is more important. Because there are many educated fools in the world.

If you search under "major builds and projects" there is a gentleman who restored a 1969 442 conv. During the process he replaced the conv. frame with a coupe frame after finding a donor conv. frame and cutting out the reinforcements and then welding them onto the coupe frame. He then had the correct frame for his convertible. That is what needs to be done in order to use a coupe frame under a conv. His thread on the resto is very detailed and informative. The quality of his work is top notch and is an example of the "right way to do things" IMO.https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...le+restoration
