Parts Place OAI Hood

I have a chance to buy a parts place oai metal frame hood. The hood was bolted on a 70 cutlass then the car sat in the side yard for about two years uncovered. The fiberglass (glass mat) is starting to show, no other major problems. He is asking $600.00, seems a little high? Is that a fair price? Also is this a functional hood?

Should be a functional hood. Check it out in person and make sure it is a steel framed hood. If it does have a steel frame and is good shape $600 isnt a bad price. The brand new functional hoods with a fiberglass frame go for $400. Also if the twist-pins and all the hardware go with it thatd really make it a good price as well

Post some pics if you can

Yes, it's functional, but it only was and still is 729 brand new. The earlier hoods had some issues with fitment. I understand the new ones have been 'tweaked' for that. If the one you're looking at is that raw, I would expect to pay less. Fibreglass exposed to UV deteriorates fairly quickly.

Going back at the end of this week, plan on a offer of $400.00 for the hood. Has been sitting in the sun for a couple years. (and it shows)
