Newbie 1972 Olds Cutlass S

Hello, I purchased a 1972 Olds Cutlass in 2011 in Michigan. I have done a lot of work to it and it now is my weekend driver. I was just looking at my cars frame and I noticed the following stamp behind the driver side rear tire.... 3992388(s)361. I have looked on the forum but have had no luck deciphering it. Can anyone decode this number? Thanks.

3992388 is the frame part number (common72-72 A-body 2dr frame). The circled S is the manufacturer A.O. Smith.

Thanks for the information. I assumed it was just a production number or part number but the (s) confused me a bit.

That must be a really clean rust free car if the frame looks like that, and you said from Michigan? Wow , lets see some other pics! Welcome!

Thanks. It is clean and set up as a driver, not a show car. The car has less than 60,000 miles on it, I am the third owner. The original owner bought it while working for GM in Michigan. The son inherited it and sold it to me. I had it repainted and replaced all the suspension parts.
