Hydroboost swap

What does it take to swap out my hydroboost for a regular brake booster and master cylinder
on my 81 cutlass

What is your reason for wanting to swap it out? Hydroboost isn't a horrible thing.

I’m getting fed up messing with everything to do with had the pressure line go bad then the pump replaced all that and now right away when you start the car you can hear the power steering pump whining and then after running for a bit it got like almost a grinding noise coming from it witch is leading me to think I might need to change the pump again and I had a hell of a time finding one that was right the first time unless you might have any ideas here I’ve tried bleeding the system a couple times now still hasn’t helped and I’ll intermittently get power steering for a few seconds and then it’s just stiff again

Get a factory service manual and follow process of bleeding. Once the system is fresh all things should be good. I understand it isn't cheap to deal with.

Very possibly. The hydroboost system is installed on lots of cars due to running very large cams in some.

Every one ton truck built by GM in the last half century has come with a hydroboost. When properly installed and bled they don't whine, pulse, or make any noises. Yours didn't do that from the factory either. They're pretty much bullet proof if you pay attention to things like leaks and deteriorating hydraulic lines. I've had no issues with any of mine.

I've had a junkyard Hydroboost, that I modified and installed my self, for 7 years now with no issues.
To bleed the system this is what I do.
Raise the front wheels of the ground, open up the reservoir. With the engine off, have somebody turn the wheels lock to lock 15-20 times while you watch the level. Add fluid as needed.
Start the car, repeat.
Set the car on the ground, repeat.
Use quality fluid like Royal Purple.
