How's it hangin ?

Your A body upper ball joint that is ? Nuts up or nuts down ? I've seen them both ways maybe it doesn't matter. My 72 Cutlass Chilton says nuts up. Most YouTube videos seem to prefer nuts down. My assembly manual was no help revits were the preferred choice in 72
Personally I went nuts up there a gold color and it looks better. Also a little easier to install. Any body got any pros and cons or it just doesn't matter.

In aircraft mechanics , the required installation of most bolts was heads up .
I guess the theory was that even if the nut came off , the bolt might stay in .

In the case of this ball joint , however , I'd say do what makes you feel good .

Actually I think the worry was the bolt may poke a hole into the grease boot. I know there are a set of threaded fasteners out that resemble rivets on the head side and the nuts go on the bottom.
