Gas tank leak

I think I have a gas tank leak, earlier I was replacing the coil springs and shocks on driver side. When I jacked the car up further I realized some dripping, stopped and smelled the puddles contents and turned out to be gas. Never had a puddle underneath the car before and since fuel gauge don't work I have no way of telling how much gas in the tank.

could I have tilted the car to much? Or somehow did something by jacking it up so high?.

I had to back track your prior posts to find what we are working on! 1972 supreme.

Given the tilt to that side I guess that your breather is deteriorated. Mine did that when the tank was filled during cold weather and then when there was a big upswing in the temps. it would leak sitting flat due to expansion.

I bought a new setup from Fusick. No more issues with leaking gas.

Just went thru this, my 71 Cutlass had a gas smell at rear of car though never actually dripped on ground. I found the little rubber hoses which were original, were deteriorated and found after getting tank out that the fuel sender was loose where tube goes thru it. I changed gas lines and sender( which was only $42.00 shipped, happily) and no more gas odor.
