front spring height

I am going to change the front springs in my 69 442. Does any body know what factory ride height was and how to measure this. So many different springs available.

Who are you?

It's called the carrying height and what it should be and where to measure it is in the Oldsmobile chassis service manual.
If you don't have one your next question better not be "How do I change the springs??".

level ground, fill gas tank, empty trunk , check tire pressure, seat rearward, door closed. At about 1/2" from front of the rocker panel (not fender) 9-1/2 . In the rear about 1 inch in front of the wheel well opening 9-5/16 with a 1/2 to 1 inch tolerance 3/4 from side to side

Yes, if your wanting to keep your ride height stock go after the stock replacement springs. I use the Chassis Service Manual like a Bible when I tinker with my cars. If you don't have one I'd strongly encourage you to pick one up. They're on ebay all the time, here's an example of one:
