Frame Engine Mount Installation

The one side the holes on the frame are elongated. I didn't remove these during frame restoration but now time to put back on. Are these elongated to compensate for the stack up of tolerances of all parts involved with the motor, frame and such. Do I final tighten this side last or when? Pictures I've seen they are at the lower side. Besides going to be a bitch putting back on, any tips. Been too easy to put on before everything was assembled. (Can't get good help) Also plan on dropping the engine in with the trans attached. Any cautions here? Front end is off.
Thanks everyone,
AL

I would test fit the block while you have the front end off.
Tighten the mounts on the frame after you have the mockup done.
Then add the transmission and front end parts.

Gives a little wiggle room. I've always seen them bolted as in the pictureWas hoping to drop engine and trans at same time. Bad idea?

The frame is shared with all a bodies, with the same wheel base.
Chevelle, GTO, Cutlass etc.
You can install the engine and trans together if you like..but I always install each one separately,as My lift is not quite high enough to clear the front end sheet metal.
I need to lift the rear end of motor up over the radiator support.
My lift is huge...but the boom does not go high enough.
If the engine and trans are still attached...it's not a real big job to seperate them for mockup...then re attach for the install.
You could mount the engine/trans in the car while your front end sheet metal is separated also...I never get this far with sheet metal as I hate re aligning panels.
