This may be stupid but I have to ask. My rear coils are collapsed pretty good on the right side and less so on the left. The shocks look new. My question is, are the shocks supposed to be installed inside the coils? I ask because it looks like they could be mounted inside the coils but they are not.

 

Are you asking about an Oldsmobile?

 

They are not supposed to be in the coils in the rear. You may need some rear springs, an easy and inexpensive fix.

 

Are they coil over shocks? Post a pic.
