I bought a cutlass thats in better condition as far as the body & frame (kind of butchered on the inside) than the one I'm currently driving so i'm going to switch everything over to that one but the rods that help lift the trunk are broken on the passenger side. is there any way to fix these?

They are spring steel (torsion bars) so can't be fixed. You can remove them with a home made tool. Get a piece of 1" pipe or similar tubing about 1.3-1.5" OD, and notch the end to fit onto the long area of the rod. Drill a 3/8" hole crosswise a couple inches down from the notch (see what is right for your year car) and install a carriage bolt and nut. The bent part of the rod goes under the carriage bolt head and you now have a lever to put more tension on the rod and get it out.
