'67 Cutlass rust on front lip of hood
My '67 Cutlass has through the metal rust on the front lip of hood. I've thought of getting a fiberglass hood, but would rather not. I don't think bondo will work because after a while the rust I can't get too will restart the problem. If I found a shop to cut out and weld on a fabricated piece any idea of the reasonable cost? Any other ideas of how to fix?

There's nothing you can't cut out with a dremel tool. You could probably also sandblast it if the metal is decently thick. I would practice on a boneyard hood or hunk of metal with a mapp gas torch and a some brazing rods as far as filling goes. I am unaware how bad the rot is.

This is unfortunately a common rustout point for the 66-67 hoods. It is also a difficult area to patch properly with new metal, since the large flat expanse of the hood can be warped easily. If you are not skilled at sheet metal patching, find an experienced shop and get references. Having this done right will not be cheap.

I had a similar problem on my '66. I sand it down, removed all the rusted metal and filled it with kitty hair (fiberglass), then prepped and painted as normal. You could never tell it had been repaired and it lasted long after I sold it. Best of all, I did it myself and it cost next to nothing.
