Any insights on removing the vent latch from the window for replacement? All expertise is greatly appreciated.

 

Tap the drift pin to one side, 'til out.
Take note on the way the washers face and the order they're in, as the 'wavy' one holds pressure to avoid rattles.
If there's a screw head - take it out, and it should pull straight out.
