455 in a Omega

Can a 455 be shoe-horned into a 1974 Omega without too much trouble?? What will need to happen? Crossmembers, springs, mounts, etc. Thanks in advance..

If the Omega was originally a 350 Olds car, yes, this is a bolt-in. Use the A-body exhaust manifolds. The weight difference between the two motors is 50-100 lbs. You won't see the difference in ride height.

Thanks Joe. All my expertise is in chevys, particularly Novas. I thought the big block would go ok, but wasn't too sure about the width. Not quite sure of the "A" body expression, do you mean a intermediate car, such as a cutlass?? I'll know more when I get this car home, as in terms of numbers, etc. I can't pick up my new toy until next week. It has a built 350 in it now, and much to my surprise, the guy is throwing in a fresh shortblock, 455, with 10-1 pistons, new cam, bearing etc.

Yeah A-body means Cutlass/F85/442.

The engine that I'm receiving with the car has manifolds with it, but how do I tell if the manifolds are the correct ones?? What type of numbers should I be looking at??? Thanks.
