442 identification help!

hi i have a 1971 442 hardtop fast back with a 455 and 4-speed, the transmission is a close ratio m-22 rock crusher which apparently only came in a w-30 but my car is not. The engine, body, and tranny are all numbers matching?? is this car significant? any info would help thanks

The M22 was optional for the 442 and the W30.The dual-disc clutch was another, more rare option for those cars that year.If your transmission is original to your car,it will have the VIN number stamped on the side of the main case, and it could still have the original WO tag bolted to the side cover. The main case casting number is the 661,the tail casting number is 764,and the side cover casting number is 648.It will hav ethe fine-spline input, with the large TH400 style output.
