1970 Cutlass Conv Coil Spring Install Help

I have the type of rear coil springs that has coils closer together at one end. I understand that end goes up.

The manual states that the:

1 Pigtails on frame end must point outward
2 SPRING PIGTAIL ON AXLE MUST POINT TOWARD LEFT SIDE OF CAR REAR

I cant seem to aquire this orentation...am I missing something?

Sounds like you have the "cargo coil" variable rate springs.
On the A body, just make sure the bottom pigtail end points to the left of the car. The CSM shows a detailed diagram. Surprisingly (or not), some photos in the CSM actually show the spring pointing to the other left, one is right next to the "point left diagram! Makes me wonder about them...
The B body is supposed to have the upper tail pointing to the right. Make sure you are looking at the correct photo.
