Wtb: 70-71 442

Looking to buy 70-71 442, hardtop, 4 speed. Looking for something in the "real nice driver" condition. Some w30 options and or documentation a plus, all this must be within my budget.

I have a tough time answering that question but the mid 30's is the range that I think that I can find what I want. I have seen a couple of nice cars in the range but because of inexperience have been slow on the draw.

i did have a buyer last year for my 70' 442. ---but he got cold feet --methinks it was because his girlfriend wasn't sporting a big rock on her finger. was asking at the time $33k--- but since then i have installed new dual exhaust ( flowmaster 2 1/2 from exhaust manifolds to tips ) and i have two sets of wheels. SS1's in the box with caps. presently changed over to steel wheels with dogdish. as far as the remainer of the car it has been either re-chromed, refurbished, or new.....not a disappointment. now $34K

curious

Why ignore the 72 model? Mid 30s will by you a nice documented V code car or a driver quality X code car? Performance is identical to the 71 models and you typically will buy a 72 cheaper than a 71 model. Beware the 72 Cutlass cloned to a 442. The X codes require no further documentation but the V code cars will need W-29 documentation.

Good luck in your search.
