Sedans can be hardtop or post cars. Budget is $1-2k and the more solid the body and drivetrain the better (of course). Will be ready to purchase by the spring (in training as an OTR driver @ present)...PM with info and pics.

Consider a running driving 72 Cutlass flat top wagon? It will be a little out of your listed budget but I am in your back yard so no shipping.

how about a 73 cutlass s needs some restore work but is currently a driver and in pretty good condition just posted in cars for sell for 2000

 

The 71-2 Cutlass will overall be the easiest to restore or find parts, followed by the 66-7. However 4-door repro parts for either are not common. The 66 was the first Cutlass Supreme, available only as a very nicely trimmed Holiday Sedan (4D hardtop). The Supreme expanded to all other Cutlass body styles in 1967.

The 70s B-body sedans are great cars, just not in very high demand. Consequently not easy to find a really nice one as they seem to have gotten all used up as beaters. Find a Delta and stick a set of SSIV wheels on it, or a set of Buick road wheels on a LeSabre and turn heads. These big cars wear fancy shoes very well.

Same case with 73-7 Cutlass sedans. They are nicely styled cars and easy to live with, but nice sedans are not common at all.

Unless you're prepared to deal with the quirks of a Slim Jim HydraMatic, the 64 is probably not a good choice for a DD. Super 88s came only as four-doors in 64 but they have strikingly beautiful interiors. A Jetstar 88 would be a better choice for a stylish driver but it has a lot of one-year-only stuff than can drive you crazy looking for replacement parts.

Rocketraider: I am partial to the 70s B-body cars. Got rid of a 72 LeSabre base model with 34k on it to get my Trofeo running (smacks self in head AGAIN)...also had a 64 Dynamic 88 that I let get away from me...

 

1970 S, Coupe. 68/69 HO 455 (was a 4-speed motor). "C" Heads, hardened seats, stainless valves and changed over to fully adjustable, roller tips with screw in studs etc. Body fair, ram air hood (aftermarket). She has about 13k on this complete rebuild, new pistons etc. Motor run great, not a big cam either, Put a nice mild cam so she is very drivable. 400 turbo, sprag is broke, can be driven, drive it occasionally to make sure everything is fine, just no second gear of course, suspension and how she drives is wonderful. Working on another project and it is time for her to be loved by someone else. Price is maybe high, but I can be dealt with.

 

Found a '72 98 4D/HT with 104k on it for $2500...it will be home this summer #roadtrip
