Bench seat, 3 speed, 67 w only 70k miles. Interior is finished restore

Is the light cream with brown carpet the parchment?

This is numbers matching, low miles on 400 and a spare 330 engine goes with it. Both running when parked. 330 running now, while I rebuild 400.

Rare Dearborn tranny from Muncie being on strike. 1of about 1800 I believe, much more rare with Dearborn.

White over sea blue. No floor pan rust. Minor bottom of quarter panel rust. Trunk perfect. Highway rear end. Rear defrost option, and seat belts. No body damage, no wrecks, everything works. Have original starter and carb for rebuild. Rally wheels, I put on, I have the original steel wheels and disc hubcaps.

Not true. My Dad's '67 442 had a parchment (light yellowish cream) with brownish gold dash and carpet.

You may be confusing Parchment with code 978 Yellow upholstery. It was a very pale yellow and came with the brown carpet and gold dash treatment, whereas Parchment (as noted) was off-white with black carpet and dash.

Here's an advertised '67 4-4-2 with saffron (yellow) exterior with the yellow vinyl upholstery and the saddle brown dash. Advertised on Hemmings Classic Cars for $35K. Warning buyer beware, it is a Fremont car, and it is not advertised with any other provenance to prove it's a true 4-4-2. It does have the 400ci in it, and an automatic trans. It has the one year only 4-4-2 louvered hood, but the rear deck lid trim is incorrect, as well as the rear taillight bezels are incorrect. Also, it is advertised at a price point that really isn't consistent with the going prices for true '67 4-4-2's. I own a '67 4-4-2 and that's how I recognized the trim on the rear of the deck lid and the rear taillight bezels are incorrect. I am guessing this is not a true 4-4-2, but a clone. Others more knowledgeable than I am may weigh in.

Well, a few other things: should be a Type O rear, air cleaner should be closed element, sketchy-looking square exhaust extensions. Along with the aforementioned trim boo-boos, I think it adds up to a car built to deceive.

Not that I know any more about anything than anybody else.

While not every Fremont car is a clone of a 67 442, all clones are Fremont cars.

According to the trim tag this car was built in CA and I believe it to be a real 442. Any Oldsmobile aficionado can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
This is what you would call a legally defensible statement. If you were to buy the car, confirm it is a fake, and be upset, the ad never actually claimed it to be a 442. This sort of duplicitous language becomes ever more common as we devolve into a low-trust society, and, to me, is more of a warning than the several things that indicate the car is a clone.

You might want to revise what you think parchment is. Do you think the parchment interior (which was not the color in 67, it's champagne) is this?

Parchment is not a 67 color. There were two different forms of champagne, and one of them might be the one you want. Recommend you *thoroughly* read the thread in my signature about 67 cowl tags, it has a copy of the trim matrix in it.

Per original post, "... no convertibles ..."

But thanks for playing.

You're looking for an EXTREMELY specific combination. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Buy one and change the interior to what you want..you could have been driving one now for well over a year. Just a thought..interior change cost you 6 grand roughly but its new, and you know what you got..

I'm not spending $6K for an interior change. There are certain items you can't change. There's one out there I just have to be patient.

....but you also specify no coupes or convertibles? So, that leaves you a post sedan 442 with a light interior of either '66 or '67 vintage. Like I said, good luck.
As Andy mentions, you'd be better served putting a new interior in any car you can find.

There is absolutely nothing that can’t be changed on an interior change..with some paint..but, hey it was just a suggestion..best of luck finding exactly what you want..

I corrected the listing. I really only want a hardtop with the proper color interior. I will take white

Is this sort of what you're looking for? https://classiccars.com/listings/vie...sylvania-15650
One of the experts on here would be able to tell if it's a true 442.

I believe that's the same car referenced in posts #15-17. As noted in that discussion, absent paperwork, it's very hard to authenticate a Fremont car.

My bad. The link above it was dead and I thought the others below it were the same and would be too.

Still looking LOL. Here is my updated want info:

I'm on the hunt for a specific '66 or '67 442. For years I have been trying to find a specific 442 that is like what my Dad had in 1967 when he ordered it in Boston, Ma. My Dad is now 86 years old and my goal is to purchase one like he had so I can take him to shows with it before he passes away. I have so many memories growing up as a child with this car so the sentimental reasons are very strong. I listed the '66 because if that comes up it would make a great substitute for his '67. I like the '66 but honestly he probably wont' notice the difference at his age LOL. If I purchase your car, rest assured it will be given the best care inside a climate controlled garage. I am very OCD about my toys. Here are the requirements:

- Must have the light yellow interior or white. No other color interior considered
- Prefer 400 engine but will consider the 455
- Prefer limited slip option but not a deal breaker
- The '66 must have a 4-speed and the '67 can have either auto or manual trans
- Prefer gold paint but other colors considered
- Only hardtops considered. No posts or convertibles.
- Prefer bucket seats but will consider split bench
- Condition: No fixer uppers. I need turn key only. I have no time for project cars.

Well, it's been over three years. If it were me, I'd back off on some of my wish list as it sounds like time is something of a consideration.

Still, cheering you on from the sidelines. Hope you can find something soon that will be suitable for taking your dad out on a cruise.
