1969 cutlass

Looking for a clean 1969 cutlass S or 442 i( if reasonable), must be a rust free car, need not be a show car, looking for a nice daily driver/ cruiser.
would prefer a bucket seat car, 4 sped is a + but not required.

anyone looking to sell soon?
thanks
Eric

Your power train looks like a nice setup, how do you like it?

Doh! I didn't even notice that you had posted that. And agreed, they are asking way too much. Likely have no idea about a realistic value.

It's a good driver with plenty of power. Probably could use another 1/2 to 3/4 point of compression for this current camshaft to maximize power, though. I rebuilt the engine back in 1982 with a 204* cam, then re-ringed it and installed new bearings in the mid-90s and tried a different cam for a bit more power, then in the early 2000s installed the current cam and the RPM intake. The 3.23 rear was a carryover from my first car, and it's a good all around ratio for an non-overdrive transmission.

Nice.
im looking at a 69 442, 400 auto but has the 308 peg leg in it. If I go for it I could always add a posi.

I really liked the 3:23 in my HO with the 455 motor.

there is another cutlass up here but they want 30k for it and that’s still way to much for cutlass. It would likely have 2:56 or at best 2:78

those high gears limit the cams or they really dog down it seams.

I now regret letting my spare 3:23 axle go with the HO sale but it was good for the buyer to have the right gears and axle shafts for spare.

Yeah, I understand about the rearend. I broke one in the later 80s and had a difficult time finding a replacement, so every time one crossed my path I bought it. Here's the collection behind my garage: 1971 8.5" 10 bolt, 1970 O-Type, and 1968 O-Type HD 31 spline. Not pictured is a 1968 O-Type STD 3.23 Anti-Spin.
