Looking for 1972 Cutlass Supreme hardtop

Howdy —

Actively looking for a car as close as possible to the one my dad bought new in '72 to surprise him for his 70th birthday. A decent driver that could use some work fits the bill here. Not looking for a total restoration or one that's been totally restored. Unrestored original or one that has an older paint job that's a good 20-footer is perfectly fine. Some minor rust is ok, (i know how these cars rusted even when just a few years old) but not looking for something that needs major metal work. I'm located in the Austin, TX area.

Details:
1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme hardtop (no S's, convertibles, or 442's)
350/automatic/4bbl

Preferred:
a/c
power steering
power brakes (front disk)
vinyl top delete or one that's been removed for paint
magnum 500's would be ideal although not a deal breaker!
front bench with fold down armrest — buckets are ok too
original radio or one that hasn't had the dash cut to put in a modern unit

High-preference:
'Broque Gold' color with saddle interior
Other considerations: 'Saddle Bronze' or similar coper or gold colors.

Pic for reference:

Thanks in advance!
Kent

Good luck on your search. I owned an exact twin to that car.

That was a really popular color in 1972. I had a Monte Carlo with that color combination. I believe Chevrolet called it Golden Brown.

Paint code 57 Baroque Gold - my ragtop was originally that body color, white top and interior remain as was but a prior owner did a body-off red respray sometime in the late 90's - still some of the gold showing on the inside of the doors though...

Indeed was a very popular '72 Olds color from what I've heard/seen.

good luck on the search - great idea if you can make it work!

Interesting. I had a 72 Cutlass convertible that had been repainted red before I bought it. It was originally brown with white top and interior.
