I am looking for a 68 olds 442 convertible..the wish list is sapphire blue with white interior or ocean turquoise with white interior..4 speed or automatic. I am looking for a nice car, not a concourse car, preferably numbers matching. So anything from a nice clean original running but needing some work to a very nice driver thats been put back together well. I hate to use the word restored as its often overused. Iam flexible on colors somewhat. Thank you
I saw this on FB Marketplace a few days ago. I can't tell for sure without a trim tag but I does look like Sapphire from the pics. Unfortunately not a white interior

I just talked to the guy, engine froze up, all original Jersey car, says rust hole, good size, behind passenger rear quarter as shown in the shitty pics. Bubbles on both lower front fenders but otherwise solid. He says zero other rust..He isn’t very tech savvy and doesn’t want to send any detailed photos.. getting a car from Pennsylvania to Florida that will not run can be a problem as i think most places want the car drivable at least onto the trailer.. basically it is all original 4speed car, interior is smoked so i can change it to white no problem. However he isn’t very flexible on coming off 16,900..Maybe 16,000 he says.. like the car but with everything needed And motor locked up I think 10-11k is more like it.😞

For $16,900 it wold have to be a running, driving, survivor in need of a cosmetic restoration. In the condition you describe, I wouldn’t give more than $6k for it. You can easily buy a nicely restored 4 speed 68 (maybe not all original) for less than $30k
Thanks, I left a message with the dealership on the blue Massachusetts car. It did show ad rust under the lip of the trunk lid.. If thats all then not hard to find a trunk..hoods are another thing tjo..
More photos at exoticcarusa.com..
Video he sent was horrible, showed nothing really, car has bad rust under the trunk lid, he was supposed to video issues with car. What he sent was very little..Advertised as older restoration but really was older paint job, jams and body are different blue colors.
Guys, I wanted to share this story.. I was told of a nice 68 442 on the 442 facebook site, a guy saw the car on marketplace in Cumming GA.. i talked to this guy several times, pics back and forth, said he was third owner, car looks great. So the plan was for me to drive up there today, this weekend to see the car before completing a potential purchase. I was packed, in the car with my wife heading to interstate and for some reason I just texted the guy.to tell him on my way but way wanted to verify the title was in fact in his name and free and clear..he didn’t answer so after an hour I called him as we were driving..goes to voicemail..finally he texts me back says he bought it from an estate sale an$ only has a bill of sale as estate couldnt find the title. Then tries to assure me Florida will let me get a title..seriously?? I tell him thanks but no thanks.. i don’t buy cars with open titles or no titles..I am so pissed off right now.. shame on me for not asking that simple question well before planning a trip.. Just know to always ask, learn from my lesson..I understand Georgia does not require titles on pre 1985 cars, however I am not sure how Florida would deal with it, a big gamble to find out as well. Bummer
