WTB 70 Vista Cruiser or 69 Sport Wagon

Looking for a 70 Vista Cruiser preferably with 455 engine, third row, scoop hood, rally wheels, power everything and rust free.

Also looking for a 69 Sport Wagon with 400 engine, third row, lots of power options installed.

I am having trouble tracking down cars priced less than $20,000. Trying to stay in the $10,000 range.

Thanks

1969 Vista

Hello Dixon: This one sounds like more in your price range. Still don't know where you are. Can you check out the car? It is in the northern part of los Angeles area. The painted wood sounds interesting and blue is a nice color. Not sure if the exhaust would be too loud for use as a family vehicle. Good luck with your search. Trent in Los Angeles

My husband called on this one and it is already pending sale We are in Arizona, so it would have been an easy trip to go look. Ah well, he said he would call if the deal fell through.

You might want to prioritize what you NEED on the car as opposed to WANT. Your price range is unrealistic for a highly optioned big block car in very nice shape. You might also want to expand your year range.

This 72 with many of your desires sold for $16K on ebay within the last month.

Hello: Found this on ebay today. I have no connection with this car, note 350 engine, and non stock interior:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Oldsmob...9ZSuSz&vxp=mtr

They have included before and after photos on the ebay listing. I think for myself, I would rather start with the before photos, but the car now looks ready to use and enjoy. Regards Trent in Los Angeles.

$25K Buy It Now price means that the reserve isn't far from that and thus considerably over the OP's "$10K range".

Have you considered a Flat Top wagon?
I'd consider selling my 1971 Viking Blue for $10,000 but its not loaded they way you want. Here are pictures:

I figure that wagon will not sell for close to that price based upon other sales. I think it might be relisted several times before the price is determined. It is good for Dixon to follow ebay sales I think. I would be very surprised to see a auto/air no power features Vista sell for close to $25K and I think Dixon's $10 range is closer which may work out after some time. I think the seller thinks the $30K restoration puts this car in that range and we all know that type of money is usually not recoverable. I think the new interior and air works for a family but is just one of many non-original items that reduces interest from some collectors. The Texas Flat Top is a nice looking wagon but does not even have air. Regards, Trent in Los Angeles

I didn't say it was WORTH $25K, just that the seller's reserve is close to that. The fact that the seller points out that there is over $30K invested, that the ad has about the lowest information density possible (yeah, the photos are nice, but the words are completely worthless), and the fact that this seller is apparently a flipper tells me that you will have to wait a very long time for the sale price to get down to the "$10K neighborhood", and even then it isn't equipped the way the OP wants.

If by scoop hood you mean the W-25 OAI hood then you should know that no VC ever left the factory wearing one. If a VC has one now someone put it there.

As others mentioned your champagne tastes wont align with your beer budget.

I curse you auto correct . What I was trying to say. Needs TCL and all you need is a hood. Probably needs a valve job. Has a 350 under the hood. All original. 3 row seats. All Windows roll up and down.
