WTB - 70-72 Vista Cruiser Project
I am kind of looking for a complete 1970 - 1972 Vista Cruiser project or one that needs work. I say complete because I don't want to have to look for glass or missing stainless trim. I'm not going to list a price because I would like to see what is out there. Not looking for something nice or even something I can get in and drive so it doesn't matter if it's running or not. Some rust isn't a problem as long as it's not a screen door. Would prefer to find something within a few states of NC but would consider traveling further. I've seen a few in CA but really don't want to travel that far. If you know of someone that has a project they started but can't or doesn't want to finish, please PM me. I have several projects I'm currently working on so I'm not bored but a VC has been on my mind for several years and figured I would start looking around. Thanks for reading...

Don't know how much you want to spend. but years ago when I bought one, I found out that spending more money for a nicer car is by far a better deal, Like the car I bought that had new paint, and interior, that is a huge thing to me. In Cal, now it will cost you a lot to paint a VC, more than I paid you a complete car. Also get a car that has all the trim and glass, is a huge deal also. Good luck looking
You are exactly right. I've always told people the same thing when they tried to get me to fix or paint their vehicle. I just finished the last one I'll do for someone else a few months ago and begged him for 3 months before starting his project to sell it and just buy one already complete. I even found him at least 10 nice turnkey ones that would have cost him 1/5th of what he ended up spending. He agreed after the 3 years and mega $$ he should have taken my advice. However, I've done resto/mechanic/frame/body/paint/interior/fab work for 40+ years full and part-time (main job was in manufacturing) so the materials are all I need to buy and I really do enjoy working on my own projects now that I've retired. As you stated, I just want to find one complete as I know how difficult and costly it can be to find some of these parts. I just want to put my own spin on the VC and thought there might be a project out there someone started and lost interest to keep it from sitting another 10 years and/or ending up as scrap or being parted out. Thanks for the response.
