Wanted: 60's - 73: Project Olds!

It has been a busy year and I'm finally getting some down time to get back to searching for a "project Olds" to restore with my 16 year old son. We're looking for a 60's to 73: F-85, StarFire, Cutlass, 88, etc... I grew up with them all. Ragtop would be ideal, but not required. Prefer 2 door, but again, not required. Originality and completeness matter most. We plan to restore, enjoy and show. I travel on business, so coming to get the car or having it shipped is not a problem. Budget is low, as this is a sideline hobby, not looking for a restored show-car. We do our own work and love turning a wrench or doing an overhaul!

Please contact me if you have anything you think would make a good project and restoration. I am located in Maryland.

Happy Holidays! - Jim

OK, I'll bite.

How about a Rallye 350 Post automatic with a bench seat.
Fairly clean car with minimal rust. Clean trunk, original engine/drivetrain.
Complete, original except carb. May have original paint from doors back. The front fender have been replaced with dimple fenders. Bumpers are straight and original.

This is a nice car to start with if you like Rallyes!

I sent you a PM.

An A-body is going to be the simplest to restore because of the parts availability, but they've become ubiquitous.

I've been thinking about selling my 69 Toronado as all it does any more is sit. Let me think on that some more.

This is the same thing this idiot did back in March. He shows up with 22 posts, says he want a father son project then disappears for 6 months.

Now he is back for 1 post, will he be gone for 6 months? Stay tuned!!!!!!!

What a waste of time and energy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry guys. I was in the hospital most of the month of December. It's been a crazy year. Still looking for project car.

Didn't appreciate the "idiot" remark, but some people just have to show their true colors.

Thanks to everyone who sent offers / ads. I have replied to most by now.

And what if he didn't? What if nothing struck the guy's fancy? What if his situation changed? What's it to you? Talk about your idiots.

I'm not looking to sell anything, so if I've wasted any time, its on questioning what you're trying to accomplish.

Whatever it is, knock yourself out.

allensatemybuick, you decide to add your 2 cents or was that IQ.

This guys posted looking for a project 3 years ago and got over 10 replies then disappeared for 2 years. He then started a new thread anf got 30 + replies and disappeard for 6 months. Then started this thread in December and hasn't been heard from since. Now that is 50+ people responding to what they thought was a legitament WTB post. Now if he found something or someone on here sold him a car, great, otherwise it is a lot of wasted time for the 50 respondents to his WTB posts.

73 delta 88

i have a 73 delta 88 2 door , 66k original , a/c , 455 , no rust or damage , that you can buy for 6500. this car runs and drives ok , just been parked in the garage for a few years. really needs nothing but some tlc. has nice set of flowmaster dual exhaust, and a whole host of spare parts i stripped off a 73 98. this car needs no interior work. i am also in maryland near bwi airport.

I am with BKeese. This guy's not serious. Its not that hard to find a car based on the wide parameters he set. Its not like he is asking for a '70 W30 with a column shift & buckets.

If he doesn't buy a car, he just gave people a forum to list cars that probably have not gotten into the for sale section yet. He also gave me the opportunity to hear of a wide variety of cars I never see any more. For that, I consider he did me a service. With the current politics, you can barely plan for next week, not a year(s) long project. If any of the complaint posts were from someone who negotiated for 3 months with him, then it fell through, I could appreciate the complaint more. Lastly, did anyone who replied get an email from someone else who read their post?
