Looking for my 1973 Oldsmobile 442 with 350 and 4 speed

I am looking for my previously owned 1973 Oldsmobile 442 with 350 and 4 speed. I owned it from 1983 to 1991.

It was blue with white stripe up the hood, over the wheel well arches and horizontally along the trunk. The engine was rebuilt in 1984 and I had the block/heads painted blue with gold valve covers with Oldsmobile lettering painted black.

Last I can find the car was sold out of the Milwaukee area in 2003.

Any leads to actually finding the car would be greatly appreciated.

Update: August 8, 2018 - engine picture attached.

Don't give up. It took me 7 years to reclaim the one that got away.

This ones red, but looking at the 442 emblems it used to be blue. Also... I'm pretty sure someone in California owned this and posted pictures of it a couple years back, he got it at an auction but wasn't able to get the engine. Anyone else remember that?

"Hate to sell moving and don't have space for three cars. This is a real 442 1 of 872 made out of Lansing Detroit. Currently car has no engine I can provide one not numbers matching also recently bought a 4 speed muncie to replace what was missing when I bought the car. The car has all parts not missing anything but a motor serious car cars no trades no car talk up for grabs rare very rare 4 speed 442 colonade car also has rally wheels all trim and rings are good also have very very hard to find front grills for the car if I didn't the replacement cost is 950 dollars just for the grill but I have theme and in good shape to restore and use.. Needs tires from sitting so long. No rust in hard to fix areas. Only place is lower trunk line on the out side easy fix and lower driver fender typical area car is solid hate to sell. If I had a place to park it till I'm ready to get to it ill keep it but force to let go have two cars now this is the third and no place for parking. Give me a call serious inquiries only thanks. 6,500 obo please don't call me if you think I don't know what I have trying to low ball save the energy. Last I do know this your not gonna find another one on the West coast this solid with everything and also a true 442 4 speed car. Give me a call its ready for delivery or pickup."

It's been a while since this thread was started, or received any responses, but I figured I'd try to help out. If it's the same car, I may know of its whereabouts. Do you have any other specific details about your car? Say, modifications, markings, or personal touches you would recognize or something that would help someone identify it's your car?

is the 455 original to the car/could the 350 have been swapped? The only reason I ask is Rockford is not far from Milwaukee at all and it does have the 4 speed. I was just about to post the same link.

probably not but you never know

Interestingly, the car now for sale in Rockford was sold by a guy in Milwaukee in June 2019. I have looked at this car in person. Not mine though.
I do appreciate the input, still looking.

I know it's not your old car, but there is a 1973 442 with a 350/4-speed list for sale in the Journey With Olds classifieds. The gentleman lives in RI. I have seen this car in person. It was at one of the Bass Pro Shop car shows at Gillette Stadium that are held every other Thursday night. It's an incredible show where they fill up multiple lots and get almost 2500 cars to show up. I go there 2 or 3 times a year. Unfortunately, they haven't had any yet this year because of the virus. Hopefully soon.
I have seen the 442 in the classifieds and it's an awesome car. Maroon with maroon interior. I know I took some pictures of it. If I can find them, I'll post them.

Found the pictures.
I don't think it has the stock steering wheel. Looks like a sport wheel from a 1980 Cutlass Calais.

Okay, here's what I've found. After some detailed discussions and thorough photo comparisons throughout the car, it appears some things have been changed since your ownership, but I think we may have a possible match. I'll mention a couple of things I compared for identification and confirmation from the engine bay. The splotch of black paint on the oil filler tube and manual brakes.

Considering the rareness of the '73 4 speed Cutlass models and how scarce they are today, could this be it?

Jesus, what happened to the poor thing? Engine fire and then left out in the rain and snow?

No signs of an engine fire, just rust and debris from trees. So, if you're comparing photos, in the original engine bay photo, the components (coil, relay, wire harness, wiper hoses, clips, etc.) along the firewall appear to have been painted black with spray paint, perhaps?

In the engine bay photo I posted, upon closer inspection, the coil is no longer mounted on the firewall but there's indication something was mounted in that area. Another possible sign, there are remnants of cracking/peeling black paint on the passenger side wiper hose. What are the odds?

I had a little time to look through a few more photos and noticed another possibility of this being the same car. In the original photo, there are braided wires and hoses installed on the engine. In the original photo, focus on the hose going from the fuel pump to the dual line fuel rail. I combined portions of the original photo with a current photo. Pointing an arrow from what's left of a braided hose (currently), to the hose in the original photo. Could it be?
