70-72 Cutlass S

Just what the title says. I'm looking for a straight clean car that's ready to go and drive. If it needs a little work (minor electrical, minor interior, tires, etc.), that's fine. NOTHING NEEDING BODY WORK. I'm looking for something between $10-$15k. I live in Michigan so hopefully not something across the country. Thanks guys!

cutlass

Please check out my album for my 1972 Cutlass S, I think that could be just what you are looking for. It's about to get a new Condenser and Drier for the A/C and I will not rest until it blows ice again. (NEW NAPA Compressor installed in 2013). It worked great until the Condenser line ruptured due to the installer (not me!) not putting the 2 brackets back on. I failed to notice it and the rest is as you would have guessed.

This is a great clean bench seat plain Jane Cutlass S and the ONLY reason I'm selling it is I'm about to lose my free storage and I have no room for it at home. Full Dual Gardner W-31 style exhaust installed last year.

thx,

Gene

Cutlass

Sadly, I believe my days of free storage are going to come to a close soon. The home's sale price where I'm keeping it has been (drastically) reduced. I see the writing on the wall. Storage costs here are around $170 a month. I'm done with that. I'd love to keep it but there's just no extra room at our corral for another horse. 3 stalls, 4 cars. One's gotta go. Not tomorrow or the next day, but I anticipate getting that call in the not to distant future that I will have to come and get it outta there. That's life

Sold! I am certain Olds_Freak will enjoy this car for many years to come as I have for the last 5. I guess the next step for me is to move that car's photos into my "Oldsmobiles I have owned" folder. I will miss it but you can't keep 'em forever. Or something like that.

You sell it with all the goodies you were planning to install on it?

Subject Line

Generally no, fortunately I was not too far along with that project, so I didn't waste much money buying stuff for something that turned out not to happen. With the exception of the 4 barrel intake manifold which I have promised to someone else, Olds_Freak gets first dibs on anything else I might come across that was for it. Including all those 2 barrel carbs I bought until I finally got one that worked right!

I was thinking about that 72 Cutlass S and it's fixed A/C this past weekend while it was 95 degrees and I was driving the 69 Camaro. Let me say this folks, Astro Ventilation doesn't cut it. No way, especially in a car with black interior. I forgot just what that feeling of peeling one's self out of hot vinyl seats was like. Man, that took me back.

Gene,
It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. People like you make the car hobby awesome. The car made it 830 miles one way all the way home without a hiccup. As soon as I got it home my dad wanted to buy it off me.

Very pleased, very pleased indeed your dad wanted to buy it, that's one great compliment, thanks! One question though: are by now totally sick of Billy Joel, The Stranger? LOL

Yes indeed, and very soon to be moved over into the "Oldsmobiles I Have Owned" Album as I'm no longer its owner. My goal is to never have my remaining two moved there, ESPECIALLY my 79 Blue Calais, 31 years and still going 260 strong!

May I ask how much you sold it for? Its a very nice car and I am looking for a 70 or 72 cutlass and am trying to find a price point. If you know of any more cars like that around MN let me know!

I'm about to sell my 1971 442 for 10K solid, needs a little engine work and hood and hood hinges. Other than that the car is fine. I can be reached at 773-759-8141
