54 Olds wanted!

Guys -

My dad's first car was a 54 Olds Super 88 Holiday coupe. Any idea where I can find one for him?? My uncle and I want to get him one for his birthday coming up and so far, they appear quite difficult to find! Let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks!

Welcome to the site! What part of the country/world are you located in? What kind of condition are you looking for, project, driver or fully restored? Your cars wanted post here is a good start. You can watch ebay, check the AutoTraderonline, and Craigslist for the cities you'd be willing to go to for a car. For Craigslist I use searchtempest.com to search within a set distance from my home. Thanks John - I appreciate the advice.

I'm in Chicago while my uncle is in Phoenix but location isn't an issue for the right car. We'd prefer something that doesn't need too much body work and certainly something without rust. That may be tough to find but we're looking anyway!

I've got one in Oregon that's probably more of a project than you want. Here's the thread I created when I got the car. John

That is one of the nicest I have seen. If you bought that car and restored it to that level, you would be way north of the asking price. Way north. I think it is a bargain.

Great find. Thank you. I will look into it. Doesn't appear to be a holiday coupe though but still quite close.

That is a neat '54. Nothing like that fadded western look that begs a 1st class restoration. My dads first brand new car was a '54 98 coupe and what a doll it was.
