1970 442 convertible
I have done this many many times......You can buy a car done cheaper than you can build one.....Unless you just want the satisfaction (and head ache) you can get one tomorrow and drive it and enjoy it for for less money than you will build it for......
Your title says 442 convertible.....They are bringing BIG bucks..
If you stay with the supreme convertible (all the body panels are the same) They are affordable.....The rear bumper and the grills are different and easily substituted if you want the 442 look.. On mine I took the supreme chrome off the sides as I prefer the "clean" look like the 442...
Just a thought as you said affordable

Where are you located? I'm thinking of selling my '72 442 convertible. Its an older restoration but still looks good. Its not numbers matching by any means but its turn key and can be driven anywhere.

Bob/Kaz,
I do not know about you guys but the reason i went with the cutlass supreme in the first place was the roof line. I do not like the fast back look of the hardtop 442's. The only way I can get away from that look would be aconvertible or Cutlass Supreme 442. I know the did not offer a 442 in the cutlass supreme in 1972 which is my favoite year. Any insight on this would be apprecaited.

The 70-72 Cutlass Supreme was the Notch-back style. If you are interested in a hardtop Supreme in that style that is in need of restoration, I know of a 1970 with a 350 4bbl that needs a complete restoration for around $1000.
