There are still some nice original cars out there as well as ones needing different levels of restoration. Regarding the Club Coupes, much harder to find seems they didn't stand up to time like the hardtops, sport coupes, and verts or since they were a lower price point consumed through normal use. I personally have looked at 4 club coupes in the 2-years I have really been looking. One was a high end restored car that was way out of my budget. One had no title so not a player for me, one was a good candidate for restoration, but interior was gone, engine was gone, and floors and trunk pan shot. Price point was too high in my opinion so passed on it. I did end up buying one about 6-months ago that considering all the alternatives was worth taking a chance on. Like most floors and trunk pan were shot, but rest of the car was pretty solid. Some rust repair work needed elsewhere but not a basket case. Car had the seats, but door panels and rear panels gone and overall was very rough shape. I'd still like to find a more solid example, but working on the one I have now.

I had a 65 club cpe when I was 19,it was a 4 speed car with tilt wheel and no power steering, blue with white top, would love to find that car today.I remember I bought it from a car lot for $800 with a weak clutch.I did the clutch in the street under a bumper jack.

My 64 was what you all described-ROUGH- to say the least. 7 years later it's a rust free rotisserie build that if I didn't love the "Post Cars', didn't have any knowledge or desire to take every single nut and bolt off this car, me supplying 85% of the labor cost and the $$$$, I would have never took this project on.

You’ve done a great job on your build....I’ve looked at several of your pictures as it has progressed. Do you have all your pictures centralized on one site? As I work through mine yours could have some good reference points. Mine won’t be as clean a build as yours though.

Realistically, it’s the deleted exterior trim, and the interior style that makes the biggest difference. Just a stripped down car without all the bling. Many of the club coupes also came with the V6 vs the V8. From a 442 perspective only about 4% of the 25k 442s in 65 were club coupes. A little more than 1000 vs 5000 sport coupes.

A lot of little things people wouldnt notice. the back seat has no rear arm rest so the seat is actually wider, card board sun visors with no material over them just colored cardboard, most has rubber floor covering ,no carpet, color coded arm rest bases and window crank handles. believe the cub weight was close to 150lbs difference. the cheapest, lightest, fastest 442 available
