It he aware that a '49 looks like a '48, and a '50 looks like a '51?

I don't think Olds made a 98 fastback in 51. 48's don't have the rocket 303 eng, so it's 49 or 50.

But they did make one in '50. It looked far more like a '51 than a '49.

they sure do

I see your point, nice cars.
My Uncle has a 50 98 4 dr with 26k miles, it's a beauty. I drove it last summer for a month. He is in a nursing home and in tough shape. He has always wanted a 50 98 fastback so I keep an eye out for him. It gives him something to think about during the long days laying in bed. He needs one like I need another hole in my head but if I find one we'll probably get it for him. He had an infection in his spinal cord and it left him paralized and minimal use of his hands. He was a super jock that played in the rose bowl in 1960 for MN and always stayed fit, then one day he got sick a few years back and he never walked again.
Life can get real tough.

1950 98 2dr club sedan (fastback)project car for sale

Are you still looking for a 98 fastback?Bum deal about your uncle, nice of you to go hunting for him.I understand that he is unable to do much, but are you looking for a project or a driver?Even though I am in upstate NY,my 50 was rescued from a Utah salvage yard, better body than we usually see around here.We are talking about $2800/OBO for a roller-no engine and trans, rebuildable engine and trans go with it if you want.Let me know if this is of any interest to you.
