70 f-85 w-31? on ebay

I know this car as I have seen it at some local shows. He has been trying sell it for a couple of years. I always thought it was real but never checked that closely. The paint looked original to me. I am close enough if someone wants another pair of eyes on it.

The driver side fender is from a '71, don't see any pix of the passenger side so not sure about that one. The OAI hood used 3 hood bumpers & the center one is not there. I'm just wild guessing but I'd say someone cloned it several/many years ago.

claims it has the original JO TH350. Someone just needs to ask if the VIN derivative stamping matches the VIN on the dash. If so, it's a W-31.

Busy little beaver...seller on at least 5 sites with this car. He states it has the correct JO transmission...jo70282, shouldn't the 5 numerals match the vin derivative [413323]?

the JO70282 is from the server cover. JO is the TH350 two letter code. 70 is the model year. 282, I believe is the julian date. The other side of the trans has the vin derivative stamp. 30MXXXXXX. if it's original and 413323 is the last of the VIN, it'll be 30M413323. (late build car then huh)

But all he has to do is add the JO servo cover to the original transmission.

More to it than that the number has a meaning

Yes but most buyers would not know that. The number on the servo cover is not the VIN. I am not saying it is real or not real. I am just saying that I would not rely on the JO servo cover as proof of being a real W-31.

VIN of trans would be compelling, rear code and Casting date of rear. Etc.
Aside from other details that are W31 specific.
Sport mirrors are missing yet door panel has the remote escutheon.

Very interesting car
