68 442 Convertible 455 4 speed!

Hey guys I have a 68 442 that I am looking to sell. I pulled the car out of a barn in 2008 and sat since 73!! The car is a convertible has 68 date code 455 with 4 speed and factory 4 speed car. I painted the car back to its original Saffron yellow with white top. The car was in amazing shape when I found it with no rust! The car is all original sheet metal this car has never been cut up. 90% of the trim on the car is original, I rechromed the original bumpers on the car and look great. The interior is very nice all new upholstery no ware on the interior. The gauges dash pad and seat belts are still 68 original and look new. All the glass is in good shape and original but the windshield has couple very small chips. The car has Rally Pack gauges, AM/FM radio with factory Power Antenna. Has disc brakes on front, factory no power steering, posi rearend. This is a very nice car if you have any questions let me know I am asking 35,000 USD Very nice car and a very strong runner!! This car is located in Gillette Wyoming. When I restored the car I never planned on selling it but things have changed..

It won't let me post a picture but you can email me and I'll send you some if interested. You can call me and if I don't answer please leave message.

68 442 convertible

Car sounds nice, but shouldn't be a 455 engine from factory, since 68s had 400 engines.

Man this poor guy cant get a break! I believe what he is saying is the 455 is a 68 date code motor. ? block, ? heads, ? intake any or all components dated for 68. He didnt say original numbers matching motor. Nor did he say original motor is MIA but to me its obvious what hes saying. So far some others are hanging him out to dry it seems.

Thank you so much Steverw for understand!! I think your the first haha and it's not that hard. I want to delete my post now... This has been a nightmare! It's not the numbers matching engine also known as original engine, it has a 68 date code block 455 which is not factory for this car. I don't know why they are not getting it haha.

Sounds like a great car! There was nothing confusing in the post that I read. Dont let other deter you and delete the ad. The more exposure you cna get the better chance to sell. How about post some pics of this beauty? I'm not in the market but enjoy the eye candy! :-)

68 442 convertible.

No please don't delete your ad or abandon the site, it's great. I'm sorry if you thought I was slamming you or the 442. I wasn't trying to do that, just wanting to bring up a point. A lot of guys end up with things which have been misrepresented to them, just hoping that you weren't one of those. Again, sorry, and good luck on the sale.

Thank you. This is the point I was trying to make, too, earlier on. It may have been obvious to "steverw" and "magna86" what the OP was saying about the engine, but it was NOT obvious to me. As has been pointed out, using words like "date correct" has all kinds of implications that people can take different ways, especially in the world of 442s, where misrepresentation of cars is a way of life. It is much better to be simple and straightforward in your descriptions.
