1970 Cutlass S

I came across this listing http://slo.craigslist.org/cto/4360361410.html and with the car in California and me being in Massachusetts I need to see if someone can look at for me. I sold my 71 Cutlass convertible last spring and was holding out hope in finding a 442 that I liked but the prices seem to have risen this last year. I started looking for a 70 Cutlass S with AC and came across this one today. I spoke with the owner and he is sending me more pictures but I would like to see if someone is in the area of San Luis Obspo, CA can look at it in person. The ad states that there is a small bit of rust in the trunk's left corner and when I talked with the owner he said everything else is good.

I'm looking for/ willing to accept a ready to drive car that needs little to no work. I do not want to get into replacing/patching panels or painting a car. I do not mind an interior (as long as it is white or black) that needs portions recovered/replaced. The car must have A/C and I prefer a 1970 or 1971 but will consider a 72. I would also like to stay around $12k.

If you see something let me know,

Thanks

Did you discover issues with the car?

Never pursued it because communications issues with the seller. It started off ok but then trailed off. I first asked for additional pictures which he didn't do and then when I told him I had someone to look at the car for me he said he was heading out for a couple of days but he did speak with Magna86 from this forum. When I did not hear from him the day after he was back (my phone and text messages went unanswered) I texted him the following day and he finally responded that his trip got extended. I figured that was it I wasn't going to waste my time or other people's time so I politely passed on the car.

The end
