69 w-31

On ebay there is 69 w-31 for sell.
Ad is kind of gargled in description.
Looks suspect in a few things but still looks to be a neat car regardless of authenticity

Did you ever see the Oldsmobile Notification for the '69 W-32 package? It was suppose to come with F60-15 tires on 7" wide Super Stock rims, along with the air induction, performance cam, specially calibrated TH400, 3.91 or 4.33 rear, limited slip, aluminum fan, fan clutch, HD radiator, new ignition distributer, and HD water pump. It was rated at 350 horsepower and 440 ft/lbs torque, the same as the 4-speed engine for that year.

no but the w-32s quote un-quote were the manual motors with OG trannies.
From what I understand that tranny was specially calibrated such as the J code and OW.
Cam was just the manual 400 cam
supposedly the dist was different in that it wasn't 933 or 932
Cant speak on the tires/rims

I am curious why the W-32 is being brought up?

FWIW, the 3-speed was also rated at 350 hp.

Couldn't fit those tires under there, you would have a mess with the scoops the first time you shank a turn. Og trans and your rite on the cam, 350 horse in front of it....very special dist.

W31

My 69 did not have things like clutch fan or a big radiator although it was a 4 speed the 70 I had had a th350 my buddy's 69 also came with a 350 trans.
The cars were bare bone hot rods. I have my window sticker somewhere if I can find it some day I will post it.

This is NOT a W-31. There was a real W-31 that was too rusty to save so this low mi 1969 Cutlass was used as a mule to carry all those original W-31 parts. The factory a/c on this car was omitted in the transformation. This car sold for $10K about a year ago after being on Craigslist for 6 months & 3 passes on eBay. This is the 2nd pass on eBay recently.

A very nice driver & a fun car to beat on.

The best thing I see is the show board on the back seat. It is a copy of the magazine article on a REAL W-31. Gee, I wonder who owns the real one on that show board???

Not to my knowledge. The previous owner & builder of this car was very honest about what he did. The current owner seems to be fishing for a modest profit on the car but sure is beating around the bush on the details about the cars' lineage.

The seller lists other Oldsmobiles that he owns. I would be surprised if he is not fully aware that this is not a rebodied car.

I do recall that the builder salvaged most of the useable parts from the original car but one of the under bumper scoops was an NOS one.
