1968 442 Sports Coupe $3950 OBO.
I am selling a 1968 442 Sports coupe (2 door post). This should be a great project car for a ground up restoration. This was my uncle's car since he owned it in the early 1970's. It blew a head gasket in the late 70's and has been sitting ever since. As you can see in the pictures, the engine was broken down years ago and never fixed. The driver side cylinder head was removed and never installed leading to rust in the cylinders of the engine. I am not sure if the engine is seized. I would recommend that the engine be dismantled first before trying to turn it over. The engine is the original numbers matching engine. Everything except the carburetor was found so far. To my knowledge the transmission is original also.
This is a California car but does have rust issues that can be examined in the pictures provided. This was due to the extended period of time the car was out of commission. Most of the rust is concentrated in the rear quarters, bottom of the fenders, and around both windshield and rear window. The rust around the rear window is definitely the worst, but I do have a patch panel for repair that I will include with the car. The rust in the trunk caused pitting and minor holes but it is pretty solid. The rust on the passenger side floor is somewhat substantial and probably happened due to water leaking from the front windshield.
Some of the options this car has besides the standard 442 options are: 3 speed TH400, Air conditioning, power drum brakes, power steering, power trunk release, rear defog, and heavy duty 4 core radiator. I am not sure if it is equipped with an "anti spin" axle.
