"Under the hood is the original matching numbers 400 CID Rocket V8"

The VIN is
344878E14760 (VIN also appears to be missing a number)

Why do people say things that are clearly not true:

Because that’s a loose term that gets thrown around they don’t know what it means.

You’re right, that is the Head. It would be on the machined pad farther down. Beautiful Car for sure

So I'm even more confused. I've never seen a 68 head stamped. I know pre-68 heads were stamped with a serial number and "V" for 442's, correct?

Those are 1967 heads. The "R" prefix shows that the heads came off a 425 4bbl. The BLOCK may be original, but "numbers matching" implies more originality than just the block. Of course, any pretense of originality went away with the incorrect red inner fenders and O.A.I. parts.
