Considering what the green W30 just didn't sell at on BaT (reserve not met), if the car in the listing is solid (fair assumption for an Arizona car), I don't think the price is too far off. Low to mid $20k's (which the buyer may be able to get to) for a number matching 70 442 with an original OAI hood is not a bad price (again only assuming the car is solid). Someone was willing to pay over $20K for the green W30 on BaT with a locked-up motor and a lot of rust. I realize it was a W30, but given the comments made on BaT and here, the buyer had to realize that the motor in that car was likely unusable meaning it would almost certainly not be numbers matching when it was finished. I think a real number matching 70 442 you can jump in and drive while working on for under $30K will sell without too much trouble in this market. A few months to a year from now..... we will see.

If that sold anywhere close to the $18K asking price, I think the car in this thread is worth well into the mid $20K's as long as it is truly solid and numbers matching (metal costs a lot more to replace than upholstry). The underhood shot shows a factory steel frame on the OAI hood, but a missing screen and air cleaner assembly. It also looks like the OAI fender brace and original 1970 fender are still present (on the driver side anyway). Passenger side may not be, considering the fit and the fact that it is all in primer (no yellow). It would be nice to know what "other" parts are included in addition to a supposed factory set of wheels.

Unfortunately it today's market, the price isn't as far off as we think. Some bodyshop with buy it for 25K paint it, have the interior done, and sell it for 55K to 65K. The labor doesn't cost them much and they get a discount on materials.. It's sad as half the cars you see listed now a days are just quick flips

The blue car is certainly neat, but it is not necessarily an even comparison. First; prices seam to have changed a lot in the past 8-12 months as covid begins to wind down. Second; a post, flat hood, hubcap car is very cool, but most would pay more for a hardtop OAI hood car. I realize the condition of the blue car is a lot nicer, but I think the differences outlined above play more of a factor then you are giving them credit for. In the end it does not really matter as I think I can state that no one in this conversation will be buying the car.

True, but I woulldn't touch that car, factory W25 hood or not, for the money that he is asking. The blue car is in excellent condition, w/ buckets, a/c, dualgate shifter, 3:23 posi and a tilt wheel, Nice cars are out there at a good price, patience is the key.
