The cowl tag looks like it was pried off with a wrecking bar at some point.

And installed with new rivets.

The cowl tag donor car may have been wrecked and that could have caused the bending.

 

spare wheel takes snap on cap? no grease zerk in the ball joint, if that's high dollar restore what does the cheaper one look like

 

Firewall replacement cowl is my guess. 1968 rotted real bad under the cowl chrome for the windshield. So yeah new rivits.

 

Sad part is you can get a new cowl tag for $50. I know someone who bought a green on white 442 convertible, changed it to gold and black, and just had the cowl tag updated. I am not saying it's right but people do it all the time

 

Yeah no kidding and they brag about "clean" looking restored under carriage. Looks more like quick clean up job with a couple of spray cans about 5 years ago. Scratches in paint on the rad top plate. Really not exactly a pro resto job. Paint looks decent. Sad thing is some poor guy might fall for it. The body tag alone should keep anyone from it.Whats with the goofy stripe on the oil filler tube? Overflow on a 68? What's with all the tower clamps on the rad hoses? Wrong oil pressure sender too. They know enough to screw someone my guess.
