Rallye 350 Mania - 3 Rallye's 4 sale in Texas

NOT Mine: This must be the season that everyone is selling a Rallye. There are at least 3 very nice ones for sale in our area. Two are Auto, and 1 is 4-Spd. It is definitely a buyer's market now:

Cool! I didn’t know they were even worth that much. I passed on a decent driver a few years back for $9k. Would have been a good purchase to drive and then resell. Granted I usually lose money when I try that.

As a buyer I like seeing them just wish they still had last years prices. That's how it goes though.

The owners of the 4spd would love to see it go to an Olds enthusiast rather than a dealer who will just flip it. One offer from a famous Dallas dealer was already turned down. There is room in the asking price.

That car is top of my list for a few reasons. Where is it located? Just so I can get a travel timeline down. Thanks.

The 4spd Rallye is located 30 miles NorthWest of Austin, Texas. The owner reached out to me sometime back to help spread the word among Oldsmobile enthusiasts. The car used to belong to her late father. To be clear, I’m not making anything on the sale. I helped draft the ad and screening for serious buyers. I will pm you contact numbers and you can negotiate directly with the owner.

prices go up when the dealers think they can get $35K for $25K cars
ever notice how large the inventory is at some of these "classic car" dealerships?

That one has been for sale for a least a couple years. I contacted him in the fall of 2017 about it. I seem to recall it needs a lot. I think I passed on it in the end because I did not want a post coupe. I used to think I did but after seeing another one in person and sitting in it I am not a fan of the framed doors/wing windows.

The color looks wrong to me and its more project than i want right now. That and i want a bucket seat 4 spd car. Post/hardtop isnt a deal breaker here.

Buckets and a 4 speed is one of the harder ones to find, but they are out there. Don't believe the BS on the internet about less than 20 4 speeds, there were way more than that.

There was a nice unrestored 4-speed on Bring a trailer a few months ago that went for around 20k. I think it was resold on ebay shortly after for close to that.

Good luck!

I have been keeping an eye on the market for these for a couple years now. Anything complete and restorable starts around 10K for mostly junk and goes up to 20k. Nice restored they seem to be asking $35-$45, but I don't know how many actually ever sold for that. There was one at Mecum that did not meet reserve but the bids went up to 30k.That one was not even that nice.

Most will be bench seat automatics...
