1966 442

Saw this in the September 28 issue of Old Cars Weekly and thought I'd pass it on. Someone should rescue this car and restore it. Can't see too much of it in the one photo, but what we can see doesn't look too bad.

What do the hood pins have to do with performance?

The ad isn't lying. No "ordinary" F-85, Cutlass, or even 442 came with them.

It's what's under the hood pins that interest me. All I know is there's 2 holes in the hood that need fixed.

Hood pins are potentially a sign of a race car or performance muscle car............Most Grand-moms didn't usually install them on their grocery getters.

Hood pins were installed on everything back in the 70's, performance of not. I never cared for them unless they were on a fiberglass hood.

Isn't that the truth... My 67 W-30 has hood pins installed by one of the previous owners...

If you ever take these cars up past triple digits, the hood pins noticeable tighten up the hood corners. The hood on my wagon tends to make me nervous past 80, just seems to have a little more shake then I would like.
